Background info on Lambeth college

Lambeth College was formed in June 1992 as a new tertiary institution to meet the post-16 education and training needs of Lambeth residents. The College was created by incorporating the former Brixton, South London and Vauxhall Colleges and including post-16 work formerly undertaken by a number of Lambeth secondary schools. In 1999 it took over responsibility for the delivery of community education in Lambeth.

The work of the College includes a wide portfolio of vocational provision (some of regional significance), high quality academic education, opportunities to learn in the community, and a commitment to meeting the needs of students who require extra support. The College has three major centres at Clapham, Brixton and Vauxhall, plus community education at Streatham. Clapham is the location of a new dedicated Sixth Form Centre offering a borough wide centre for A level studies.
